The Bioimaging Hub’s histology labs have recently installed a new Leica Histocore Chromax ST automated histology staining machine  through generous Medr (HERC) funding (£30k; lead applicant Dr Tony Hayes). The equipment will allow consistent, trouble-free automated staining of histological slide samples, optimised reagent usage and efficient reliable operation, enabling histology staff to focus on other demanding and time consuming activities such as  sample embedding and sectioning.
