Team Tuesdays- Meet Carys, Events and Communications Officer

Carys, Events and Communications Officer

Name: Carys Bradley-Roberts

Role at the University: Events and Communications Officer for the Centre for Education Support and Innovation

What is your role in the Digital Education Programme?
I created a communications strategy for the programme and am co-ordinating the comms according to this strategy. I manage the CESI twitter and blog and help collate information for the bulletin and intranet pages. I’m also involved in the promotion and organisation of events related to the programme, including the training and development events and the external speaker series.

Why did you want to be part of the Dig Ed Programme?
Having only joined Cardiff in January, I wanted to get involved in a collaborative, University-wide programme and have the opportunity to work with various academics and professional services staff across the University.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the programme?
It’s been great to get involved in such a crucial, University-wide programme of work within my first 6 months at Cardiff. I’ve also really enjoyed working closely with staff members across the University, many of which I may not have worked with if I hadn’t been involved in the programme. It’s also been exciting to co-create a comms strategy and then be able to quickly start working on our objectives, and see good engagement across our channels!

A fact about yourself?
I was born on the 29th Feb, so have technically only just celebrated my 6th birthday! I also really enjoy writing scripts for stage and have just finished my first Welsh/English bilingual play

Keep an eye on the CESI blog for more team profiles!

Rôl yn y Brifysgol: Swyddog Digwyddiadau a Chyfathrebu yng Nghanolfan Cefnogaeth Addysg ac Arloesedd

Beth yw eich rôl yn y Rhaglen Addysg Ddigidol?
Fe wnes i greu strategaeth gyfathrebu ar gyfer y rhaglen ac rydw i’n cydlynu’r cyfathrebiadau yn unol â’r strategaeth hon. Rwy’n rheoli twitter a blog CESI ac yn helpu i gasglu gwybodaeth ar gyfer y tudalennau intranet a’r bwletin wythnosol. Rwyf hefyd yn ymwneud â hyrwyddo a threfnu digwyddiadau sy’n gysylltiedig â’r rhaglen, gan gynnwys y digwyddiadau hyfforddi a datblygu a’r gyfres siaradwyr allanol.

Pam oeddech chi am fod yn rhan o’r Rhaglen Addysg Ddigidol?
Ar ôl ymuno â Chaerdydd ym mis Ionawr, roeddwn i eisiau cymryd rhan mewn rhaglen gydweithredol, ledled y Brifysgol a chael cyfle i weithio gydag amryw o academyddion a staff gwasanaethau proffesiynol ar draws y Brifysgol.

Beth ydych chi’n ei fwynhau fwyaf am fod yn rhan o’r rhaglen?
Mae wedi bod yn wych cymryd rhan mewn rhaglen waith mor hanfodol ar draws y Brifysgol o fewn fy 6 mis cyntaf yng Nghaerdydd. Rwyf hefyd wedi mwynhau gweithio’n agos gydag aelodau staff ledled y Brifysgol, ac efallai na fyddwn wedi gweithio gyda llawer ohonynt pe na bawn wedi bod yn rhan o’r rhaglen. Mae hefyd wedi bod yn gyffrous cyd-greu strategaeth gyfathrebiadau ac yna gallu dechrau gweithio ar ein hamcanion yn gyflym, a gweld ymgysylltiad da ar draws ein sianeli!

Ffaith amdanoch chi’ch hun?
Cefais fy ngeni ar 29ain Chwefror, felly yn dechnegol dim ond newydd ddathlu fy mhen-blwydd yn 6 oed! Rwyf hefyd yn mwynhau ysgrifennu sgriptiau ar gyfer y llwyfan ac rwyf newydd orffen fy nrama ddwyieithog Gymraeg / Saesneg gyntaf
