Name: Ada Huggett-Fieldhouse

Role: Learning Designer 

What is your role in the CESI team?  
I will be leading and working on exciting projects under the Digital Education Strategy and the Education and Students Strategy. Additionally, I will be working in partnership with the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering to help enhance learning, teaching and the use of educational technology. Outside from CESI, I teach Linguistics in the evenings at Cardiff University’s LEARN. 

Describe a project you have been involved that you have enjoyed 
My particular interest is what goes on in synchronous teaching sessions. I developed a peer-assisted learning programme which saw Level 5 students (called PAL Leaders) running fun, facilitative teaching sessions for Level 4 students on their programme. Seeing the attending students learning and the PAL Leaders growing into their roles was an amazing sight! It was great teaching the PAL Leaders to use interactive classroom software, as well as old-school ‘pen and paper’ facilitation techniques! 

A fact about yourself? 
I have a Japanese Chin called Moshi who likes climbing, waving and spinning! I’m happiest when I’m somewhere beautiful walking with him.

Beth yw eich rôl yn nhîm CCAA? Byddaf yn arwain ac yn gweithio ar brosiectau cyffrous o dan y Strategaeth Addysg Ddigidol a’r Strategaeth Addysg a Myfyrwyr. Yn ogystal, byddaf yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth â’r Coleg Gwyddorau Ffisegol a Pheirianneg i helpu i wella dysgu, addysgu a’r defnydd o dechnoleg addysgol. Y tu allan i CCAA, rwy’n dysgu Ieithyddiaeth gyda’r nos yn rhan o DDYSGU Prifysgol Caerdydd.

Disgrifiwch brosiect rydych chi wedi bod yn rhan ohono rydych chi wedi’i fwynhau
Fy niddordeb penodol yw’r hyn sy’n digwydd mewn sesiynau addysgu cydamserol. Datblygais raglen ddysgu gyda chymorth cymheiriaid a welodd fyfyrwyr Lefel 5 (a enwir yn Arweinwyr PAL) yn cynnal sesiynau addysgu hwyl, hwylus ar gyfer myfyrwyr Lefel 4 ar eu rhaglen. Roedd gweld y myfyrwyr yn dysgu a’r Arweinwyr PAL yn tyfu i’w rolau yn olygfa anhygoel! Roedd yn wych dysgu Arweinwyr PAL i ddefnyddio meddalwedd ystafell ddosbarth rhyngweithiol, yn ogystal â thechnegau hwyluso ‘pen a phapur’ hen ysgol!
