Meet one of our new Academic Partners, Dr Angharad Naylor
23 September 2022What is your role at the university?
I am a Senior Lecturer at the School of Welsh. I have undertaken many administrative roles within the school, most recently as Director of Learning and Teaching, also Director of Recruitment and Marketing, and Senior Personal Tutor.
Tell us about your history at the university
I have contributed to several Partnership Projects including the Learning Communities and Student Voice projects. I’ve worked closely with the Cardiff Branch of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol and with the Dean of Welsh and Academi’r Gymraeg in order to develop Welsh medium provision within the university.
I enjoy all aspects of working collaboratively with students through teaching, learning and extra-curricular opportunities as well as through support activities such as personal tutoring and the mentoring programme.
These experiences and continued involvement in enhancing the student experience have led me to this particular Academic Partner role for Personalised Learning Support.
What will your new role involve?
I will be working in partnership with colleagues and students from across the university to develop the ways in which we support staff and students during their journey at Cardiff University.
What excites you about becoming an Academic Partner?
I’m looking forward to exploring ways in which we can develop best practice in personal tutoring, building on current practices as well as designing and delivering activities and resources which will further support staff and tutors in their support for students.
All of which will continue to enhance the student experience as well as enhancing the ways in which schools, academic services and staff are supported in order to deliver effective and high quality inclusive learning support for students.
