Student Leaders Celebration Event 2025

On the 15 May, the Learning and Teaching Academy in partnership with the Students’ Union, had the absolute pleasure of hosting the Student Leaders Celebration Event 2025.

It was a fun and lively afternoon dedicated to celebrating the amazing contributions of student leaders who have worked in partnership with the University over the past academic year. From Student Wellbeing Champions to Course Reps, Student Mentors to Society Leaders, this event was our way of saying a huge thank you to everyone who has helped shape the student experience this year.

The event had a brilliant funfair atmosphere, perfect for celebrating. Students tried their luck at inflatable bowling, got competitive over mini golf, and played classic fairground games to win some fantastic CU-branded prizes. The CU t-shirts from Love Cardiff were especially popular and quickly became the must-have item of the day, and there was plenty of food and sweet treats on offer.

It was also a great chance for student leaders from across the Students’ Union and the University to relax, meet others, and celebrate their achievements together. A special shoutout goes to our Student Champions, who showcased posters highlighting the brilliant projects they have worked on this year. This was a real testament to the power of student partnership. It was also fantastic to see the Sabbatical Officer team getting involved and enjoying the festivities. A special appearance from Dylan the Dragon added even more fun to the day.

One of the highlights of the day was the big screen display. It featured quotes from student leaders about what they have enjoyed most in their roles, what has inspired them, and who has made them smile this year. These reflections were collected during event sign-up, and it was lovely to see students recognising their own words or spotting their name in lights.

A huge thank you once again to all our student leaders. Your passion, ideas, and commitment make a real difference. We are so proud of everything you have achieved and cannot wait to see what is next.
