Student Champions project spotlight – March

4 April 2022

Written by Tomos Lloyd and Joy Okeyo

We have been working on the Student Voice in ENCAP Project with Robert Meredith from the School of English Communication & Philosophy (ENCAP). The aim of this project is to ensure the feedback loop between staff and students at the school is efficient and responsive, allowing all students to easily communicate concerns and feedback to staff at the school, and to guarantee that feedback is listened to and considered. This project has provided an opportunity for the school to evaluate current feedback systems and to consider new proposed suggestions that have worked elsewhere across the University.

Based on communications with other schools and staff across the university, we have suggested several implementations to improve the feedback loop and ensure cohort representative feedback. One of the platforms that we have considered introducing in the school to facilitate this is the student voice platform called Unitu. This has been effective in other schools in producing higher levels of student engagement and involvement in the feedback process. We are continuing work on this project with the school and look forward to developing further solutions.
