Using Images on Learning Modules
7 November 2024This blog is written by Colan Hughes from the School of Chemistry.
I lecture in Year 1 on physical chemistry and maths, and I am the convenor for the maths module. I am also a demonstrator in laboratory practicals and a personal tutor.
Some Year 1 students struggle to find particular exercises and assignments when they begin using Learning Central. The Maths module for Year 1 Chemists is divided into ten discrete topics which the students study over two-week periods. It is therefore very helpful to the students to be able to clearly identify which learning materials are for each topic. By using Learning Modules rather than Folders for the topics, a simple, colour image can be attached to the top of the Learning Module, allowing the students to navigate the content more easily and, in particular, helping them see where one topic ends and the next begins.
