TfW-Pilot

Climate Change and Flooding Risk on the Core Valleys Network of TfW

Pilot Study on the Design of an Operational Flood Warning System

This is a pilot project for Transport for Wales (TfW) and aims to:

  1.  assess the availability, solution and shortcomings of existing system data sets in the Core Valleys Lines (CVL) of the Transport for Wale (TfW) networks, in particularly the catchment of
    • the River Cynon between Aberdare and Abercynon;
    • the Rhondda River between Tonypandy and Porth;  and
    • the Rhymney River between Rhymney and Pontlottyn.
  2. design a project management programme for the development of an operational flood warning system.
