Dear student,

I hope this email finds you well.

As the academic year comes to an end, and summer nearly here, I’m sending you a shorter message with some key updates:

Receiving your examination and assessment results

You will receive your results from this summer’s examination and assessments shortly. If you have any queries about your results, contact your academic school or personal tutor. You can also search the student intranet or get in touch with Student Connect.

Student Futures support for graduates

If you are graduating this year, please do make use of our Class of ‘22 careers support. We offer resources, support and events designed to help you understand your options, achieve your potential and succeed in securing a job, further study or any other opportunities you wish to pursue.

Your summer break

Some of our buildings and services – including our libraries, sports facilities and Student Connect – may be open at different times over the summer. Please do check in advance if you plan to use any of these services during this time.

Pride Month

June is Pride Month: a month dedicated to celebrating LGBT+ communities all around the world. I am proud to be the University Executive Board Member ally for LGBT+ staff and students and want you to know that no matter who you are, you can be yourself here. Visit our LGBT+ pages for information on upcoming events, networks you can join, and peer support from student champions.

Refugee week, 20 to 26 June

As a university, we are still working towards becoming a ‘University of Sanctuary’, an initiative that recognises the good practice of universities like ours in welcoming people seeking sanctuary to ensure they are welcomed, included, supported, and empowered. Refugee Week starts Monday 20 June and throughout the week we will be sharing the stories of forced migrants and asylum seekers in our community.

COVID-19 Screening Service

Our COVID-19 screening service has been critical in keeping us all safe throughout the pandemic. After more than 600 days in operation, the service will close on Wednesday 22 June. Book here if you need a COVID-19 test on or before 22 June

I wish you all a very happy and healthy summer break.

Best wishes,

Claire Morgan
