Join our 2022 AS Summer Programme

We are thrilled to announce that in June we will once again be hosting our face to face, popular 3-day non-residential workshop for AS level students.  The workshop is aimed at students who are considering pursuing a physics degree.

This free event will take place on Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 June 2022, from 10:00-16:30 at Cardiff University School of Physics and Astronomy.  A more detailed programme will be released closer to the time, but will include talks, lectures and workshops delivered by staff and students from the School of Physics and Astronomy.

Lectures and workshops will be targeted at AS level (Year 12) students and provide an insight into Physics beyond A-level, such as:

  • Gravitational Waves
  • Astronomy and Cosmology
  • Medical Physics
  • Nanophysics
  • Lasers
  • Semiconductor technology

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Friday 27 May 2022. In the case of over subscription places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Gweithdy Haf UG Ffiseg Caerdydd 2022

Rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi y byddwn yn cynnal ein gweithdy dibreswyl 3-diwrnod poblogaidd i ddisgyblion Safon UG unwaith eto ym mis Mehefin, a hynny wyneb-yn-wyneb.Mae’r gweithdy ar gyfer y rhai sy’n ystyried astudio ar gyfer gradd ym maes ffiseg.

Bydd y gweithdy rhad ac am ddim hwn yn cael ei gynnal o 10:00 tan 16:30 ddydd Llun, 13 Mehefin tan ddydd Mercher, 15 Mehefin 2022, a hynny yn Ysgol Ffiseg a Seryddiaeth Prifysgol Caerdydd. Bydd rhaglen fwy manwl yn cael ei chyhoeddi’n agosach at yr amser, ond bydd yn cynnwys cyflwyniadau, darlithoedd a gweithdai gan staff a myfyrwyr o’r Ysgol Ffiseg a Seryddiaeth.

Cynulleidfa darged y darlithoedd a’r gweithdai fydd disgyblion Safon UG (blwyddyn 12). Bydd y rhain yn rhoi syniad o’r pynciau nad ydynt yn cael eu hastudio ar lefel Safon Uwch, fel:
