Liberty House Interviews

20 September 2020

Liberty house, also known as Clodien house is perfect for medical students as it is so close to the Heath campus. It also is reallyclose to Heath park which is a lovely green open space with a beautiful lake and a rose garden. To learn more about what it was like to live in these halls I interviewed Zandrea and Abbie.

 Abbie

What was your favourite thing about your halls and why?

My favourite thing was how close I was to heath campus – I’m a medic so it’s perfectly located!

What was something you wish you had been told before you moved in?

I wish someone had told me that taly is more social to live in.

If you could pick accommodation again, where would you pick (not to be with friends, but singularly about the accommodation)?

If I picked accommodation again, I would go for Clodien house again as i had very minor problems when I was there.

Which shop did you mainly use?

I mainly used tesco delivery for my groceries but occasionally went to Sainsbury’s on Whitchurch.

How did you socialise within the accommodation?

I used the group chats to make friends, but my flatmates were also nice.

What were three key points about the halls?

I would say Clodien house is well located, quiet and had nice rooms.

Could you describe the experience and overall vibe of these halls?

I had a few problems which took a while to sort, but they were minor and otherwise it was perfect! My room was lovely, and the kitchen was alright, the vibe is quiet and quite chill to be honest!

Zandrea

What was your favourite thing about your Liberty halls and why?

My favourite thing about liberty house is that it was close to Cyncoed campus but was also fairly close into Cathays.

What was something you wish you had been told before you moved in?

I wish I knew that if you didn’t have a car, they should recommend you getting a bus pass from getting to and from cyncoed campus

If you could pick accommodation again, where would you pick (not to be with friends, but singularly about the accommodation)?

I would stay at that accommodation again as it has good transport links and was fairly close into Cathays and Cyncoed campus.

Which shop did you mainly use?

I mainly used Lidl which was a 20-minute walk from my halls.

How did you socialise within the accommodation?

We used pres to get to know each other.

What were three key points about the halls?

1. Close to Cathays

2. 30-minute walk or 5-minute bus ride to Cyncoed campus

3. Has a GP surgery opposite the halls of residence which is also helpful

Could you describe the experience and overall vibe of these halls?

The overall vibe of the halls was friendly and just generally like a party!

With an en-suite bathroom and a great location liberty house is a great choice.
