Central Square Library:

Exclusive to School of Journalism, Media and Culture students and staff, the Central Square Library is a haven for knowledge seekers. Spread across the ground, mezzanine, and first floor, it offers a diverse range of resources. A valid Cardiff University ID card is your key to unlocking the doors of this literary paradise.

Library Details:

The Central Square Library is only available to staff and students from the School of Journalism, Media and Culture due to restricted building access placed on us from the building owners. However, Cardiff University library members can request items using LibrarySearch and collect them from any university library.

Library Sections:

– Ground Floor: A quiet study area and a self-issue terminal provide a conducive environment for focused learning.

– Mezzanine: Explore periodicals and DVDs, including a month’s rolling run of every UK broadsheet and tabloid, plus the Echo and Western Mail.

– First Floor: Discover the monograph/book collection, self-issue terminal, theses, library enquiry desk, open-access PCs, and loanable laptops.

Library Access and Facilities:

– Open from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday. Check the student intranet for specific opening hours.

– Accessible toilets on each floor.

– A ramp to the lift is located to the left of the reception desk.

– Staff are available to retrieve books from the shelves—please ask for assistance.
