UV and IR Photography and Post-Processing18 January 2022
This is a video on UV and IR photography and post-processing I’ve made as part of the Project Report assessment for the first-year module, Practical Projects 2. It’s aimed at first year students on the MSc conversion course, but should be useful to anyone needing to take and post-process UV and IR photographs as part of their coursework. It’s also fully subtitled. If you have any questions, comments or issues with the video, feel free to send me an email at RibyS@cardiff.ac.uk.
It’s a long video (I’ve tried to be as thorough as possible), so here are some time stamps to help you navigate it if you’re looking for something specific:
02:00 Uses of UV Photography
03:31 Uses of IR Photography
04:21 UV Photography- where is all the equipment?
05:32 Using the Pentax K5-II camera
08:25 What are aperture, shutter speed and ISO?
10:45 Using the UV Photography Lab Setup
11:39 Post-Processing UV photographs in Camera Raw
16:08 Introduction to IR Photography
16:22 Using the converted Nikon D5600 camera
19:26 IR Photography Lab Setup
19:47 Post-Processing IR photographs
28:52 Thank you and Credits
