Involving people living with dementia and carers

On Thursday 10 and Friday 11 September, DemTechConnect held two of our regular Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) meetings. The meeting on Thursday 10 September brought together PPIE representatives who are currently living with dementia. At this meeting, discussion centred on how people living with dementia use technology, and in particular digital technology, in everyday life. On Friday 11 September, the team convened a meeting with PPIE representatives who have experience of caring for people living with dementia. Here, discussion focused on how technology can be used to help maintain and support the abilities and capacities of a person living with dementia. Both carers and people living with dementia advised and provided input to our ethics application.
