Question writing for the new curriculum….

11 July 2013

Today, I attended half a day of a Question writing session hosted by Dr Mark Wardle. It was a very interesting half day where a group of medics and scientists helped to ‘bank’ Single Best Answer questions for the new C21 Curriculum.

The objective is to build a very large bank of questions. The interest and enthusiasm was inspiring. All of the questions had a clear clinical link but many required a clear scientific understanding. The emphasis at all times was on fairness. Groups of six to eight people were involved with different levels of experience and clinical specialities. We worked together to develop, simplify and bank questions.

I left feeling that I was contributing to the development of an exciting new curriculum.
