The Way Forward … post from a novice blogger

I don’t blog often … in fact this is my first one! However, I did think it would be good idea to write a quick post on The Way Forward – Making it Happen session that I led last week.  I facilitated a session last year too and they are a great way to meet new colleagues, understand a bit more about the University’s strategy and explore the four key themes of research and innovation, education, international and engagement. Inevitably, with the Director of Finance leading there were questions on our finances too.  What I was genuinely pleased to see was the levels of engagement from staff from across the University and to listen to their ideas of how to make the strategy happen in their areas.  We heard ideas on how to build engagement and impact into grant proposals through to Schools and Divisions having ‘achievement boards’ and perhaps a common courtesy day.  In that vein, thank you to everyone who attended and for your contributions.  I had a very enjoyable two days.  If you haven’t been on one of the workshops yet, remember you can self-nominate but hurry up there are only a few sessions left.
