Celebrate Shakespeare @ 450 with Cardiff University Libraries!
21 November 2014Cardiff University Libraries mark 450 years since Shakespeare’s birth
To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare’s birth, our libraries are holding a week long Shakespeare 450 celebration from 1st – 5th December.
We will be hosting Shakespeare-themed displays, as well as competitions throughout the week:
- The Arts and Social Studies Library will be promoting Shakespeare-related materials in the SCOLAR special collections.
- Take part in a ‘Shakespeare in Wales’ seminar in the Arts and Social Studies Library.
- Vote for your favourite Shakespeare play when you visit a library that week, and be entered into a prize draw to win theatre gift vouchers.
- Exercise your grey cells by encapsulating the plot of your favourite Shakespeare play in the space of a tweet! Just #CUShakespeare450 to be in with the chance of winning a prize!
- Join the School of Music and the Music Library for ‘The Influence of Shakespeare’ on Thursday 4th December, 12.30 – 1.30pm in the School of Music. Music students and Library staff will join together for readings and musical settings from Shakespeare.
- And much more…
Use the hashtag #CUShakespeare450 and keep your eyes on @CardiffUniLib on Twitter throughout the week to follow the latest on what is happening in your library.
