New for 2012/13 in Bute Library
5 October 2012We’ve upgraded and updated for the 2012/13 academic year here in Bute. We’ve listened to your feedback and made a number of improvements in the library, these include:
New study areas
We’ve completely redesigned and refurbished the areas between our lounge and the IT training room. Where you’ll now find new seating, desks and power points. The pharmacy journals can now be found on the gallery above.
Improved wireless access
The whole of the library now benefits from increased capacity Wi-Fi. To get your devices registered, just ask a member of staff.
New IT services
All of our PCs are now upgraded to the Windows 7 operating system with up-to-date browsers and software. Each PC is now connected to the new ‘FOLLOW-ME’ print service. Collect your printing from any of our six new multifunctional printing/copying/scanning machines, dotted throughout the library.
You can now also print wirelessly to our printers!
Updated group discussion rooms
Our group discussion rooms(1 & 2) have been newly refurbished and will shortly contain LCD presentation screens, just attach your laptop using the cable provided. These rooms can be booked at the main staff desk.
Architecture Library
The Architecture Library has been equipped with brand new furniture, all new PCs and increased shelf space for books. As well as an improved study area with individual power sockets on the mezzanine level.
