Doctoral student Open Days at the British Library
4 December 2014The British Library will be holding a series of Open Days for doctoral students in January and February 2015.
The Open Days aim to introduce new PhD students to the British Library.
Students will learn about the British Library’s collections, how to access them and meet the British Library’s expert staff as well as other researchers in their field. In addition to gaining an understanding of the British Library’s collections, students will gain a wider introduction to the information landscape in their field including research opportunities opening up in the digital environment.
Each Open Day has a specific focus – in January and February the British Library will be looking at:
- English and drama
- Digital scholarship
- Music
- Art and design
- Media, cultural studies and journalism
- History
- Social sciences
- African and Asian studies
Students are welcome to attend the event they feel is most relevant to their area of research.
Places cost £5.00 and this includes lunch on the day.
The number of places at each Open Day are limited so early booking is encouraged by the British Library.
Full details of all the Open Days, including how to book, are available on the British Library’s website.
