Three years after the first day conference on the Templars at the University of Hull, there will be a second day conference on Saturday 22 April 2017, at Blaydes House in the city of Hull. Starting at 10.30am, the morning’s programme will comprise papers on the Templars in Yorkshire; Temple Hirst, Faxfleet and Westerdale, while after lunch there will be papers on the Templars and the Bannockburn Myth, the transfer of the Templar lands in Lincolnshire to the Hospitallers, and the records of the Templars’ British and Irish estates that survive in the National Archives at Kew (with special reference to the records of their chapels). The conference has been organised by Dr John Walker of the University of Hull. Entry is free, but there will be a charge for lunch.
