Introduction

Croeso!

18 September 2016

Welcome to Thinking Wales. This blog is to showcase current research, comments and analysis on Welsh politics and policy from postgraduate researchers at the Wales Governance Centre. The Centre and Cardiff University have a thriving community of postgraduate researchers who each have something unique to say on Welsh politics and policy. We want to give the opportunity to young academics and researchers to showcase their talent and give them a space to provide commentary and analysis on key issues concerning Welsh and (sometimes) British politics.

Welsh politics is going through a very important period with the potential of a new Wales Bill being put through Parliament, the challenges involved with Brexit, a dramatic shift in the party landscape with the rise of UKIP and the problems resulting from the Labour leadership contest.

In these very important times for Wales, we hope to offer a fresh perspective on the challenges ahead.

The blog will be updated on a regular basis, drawing on the work of young academics at Cardiff University and the occasional guest writer. We would also welcome suggestions from others with interest in Welsh politics and policy, in particular young academics at other Universities who wish to contribute to the growing debate in Wales. Please feel free to get in touch with Nye Davies at DaviesN30@cardiff.ac.uk

In the meantime, take a look at our contributors page to find out a bit more about who we are.
