Win Investment in your Venture with Y Syniad!

Enterprise have been working hard to bring something big to Cardiff University students this November.

We take Global Entrepreneurship Week seriously here at Enterprise and Start-Up because we’ve seen first hand what taking big ideas seriously can achieve. Every day we meet ambitious students and every day we see their ideas grow, so we wanted to give more people the chance to explore what it means to be an entrepreneur. That’s why next week, Enterprise is giving Cardiff University a new home for innovation: Y Syniad.

Y Syniad is a week-long event in Main Building between 13th – 17th November, dedicated to helping bring your ideas to life. Enterprise have worked closely with CAUKIN Studio to build a hub for innovation at the university’s centre that’s both practical and inspiring. We’ve planned a free schedule of events that will give students the opportunity to engage and collaborate with different enterprising minds and encourage everyone to think about an entrepreneurial future. Here’s what’s coming up during the week:

  • FREE Co-Working Space for students. We’re providing desk space for students who want to be in the heart of the action while working on their business ventures. No need to sign up, just come along and take a seat. We’re even offering five £100 seed funds for the students who can show us they’ve made the most of the week’s events! Come along to our induction session at 11am, Monday 13th November in Main Building for more information – you won’t miss us!
  • FREE 1-2-1 Business Advice sessions. Come and talk to our business advisor about your idea. Our support will help you get your idea off the ground and we can guide you through the motions as long as you need us.
  • Industry Talks. We’ll be running Industry talks at 10am on Tuesday and Friday where you’ll be able to pick the brains of successful entrepreneurs and business owners – any question asked, every question answered!
  • Workshops. Essential workshops for enterprising students and much more! Our schedule includes:
    Pitching Practice – 1pm Monday 13th
    Digital Marketing – 2:30pm Monday 13th
    CV Masterclass – 12pm Tuesday 14th; 12pm Thursday 16th
    How to Pilot your Product/Service – 4pm Thursday 16th
    Project Planning – 12pm Friday 17th
  • Student Showcase. Come and see what our Enterprise students have achieved and get some information from the careers service from 12pm on Tuesday 14th.
  • Virgin LifeStart Takeover. Virgin LifeStart will be taking over the event on Thursday 16th, bringing you all the info on how to get involved in their free online courses for entrepreneurs. Don’t miss out on the chance to try out their Virtual Reality equipment!

Y Syniad is open 9am-5pm all week long to anyone looking to develop their knowledge and skills about what it means to be enterprising. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to learn and meet likeminded students, and perhaps you’ll leave with a big idea of your own.
