Penny, Employer Liaison Intern, tells us about what the Business, Finance and Banking Fair can offer to students…
Congratulations! If you’re reading this you’re probably taking a break from one of the most employable and in-demand degrees. Tomorrow you may be analysing a pile of statistics, the next day, you’re getting to grips with marketing strategies. Impressive!
Luckily for you, the business, finance and banking industry you’re so desperate to dive into, is just as varied. However, with so much to offer, things can get a little confusing…
The Business, Finance and Banking Fair
If you’re unsure of your future career path – don’t panic. The Business Finance and Banking fair could solve this question for you. We’ve gathered up 33 of the industry’s leading employers, along with all their sought after internships, insight days and enviable summer placements, and arranged to have them meet YOU on Tuesday October 25, between 11:00 and 15:00. Find out more here.
Which route could you take?
Here’s our breakdown of all your possible routes.
Does your passion lie with the behind-the-scenes work of business technology? You’re in luck! The 64 billion pound Airbus takes on people just like you, for its’ business software technology schemes. Or maybe you’d fancy working with operating systems and service desk support at Dyson?
People person? Flex your employee development, alongside administrative and account management skills with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Or fancy a tough, hands on challenge on Aldi’s 41k grad scheme? Perhaps you want to work for one of the big four, PwC, on their two year market leading structured programme, which allows you to get a taste from across all their industries in a management role.
You could put your mathematical mind to good use and begin your career as an accountant. Stay close to home with CIMA on their accountancy schemes and placements, or spread your wings with Deloitte on their international audit and finance schemes.
Fancy something different?
Not keen on the traditional paths? Fortunately, your degree gives you so many transferrable skills, applicable to Teach First’s tough yet rewarding teacher training scheme, which gives you a challenging insight into the education system. Or, you could turn to Uniqlo’s intensive one year training scheme to build up the skills necessary for helping to run a multi-million pound business!
So, fill your Tuesday afternoon with networking (or at least the odd freebie) and come to the Postgraduate Teaching Centre, between 11am-3pm, to find out where your degree can take you! Start practicing that handshake…
