This year sustainability week has the theme of sustainable food. Join us between 4-8 March for events which are free and open to students and staff.
Drop-in day, 4 March 11:00 – 14:00
Our opening event will be a drop-in day on Monday 4 March 11:00 – 14:00 in the VJ Gallery. Come along and meet exhibitors and have the chance to win some Riverford goodies. We will be having a seed planting session as well – calling all Green Impact teams who need to get those edible plants sown, come along and join in the fun!
Environmental sustainability forum, 5 March 12:30 – 14:00
To celebrate one year since the approval of our environmental sustainability strategy, we are holding a sustainability forum on Tuesday 5 March 12:30 – 14:00 in the Main Building Council Chamber.
Join us for presentations from each of the lead area followed by a question and answer panel session chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Karen Holford. Please make sure you book your place online to join us for this event.
Bike breakfasts and lunchtime litter pick
Our popular bike breakfasts and social will return with a vegetarian twist this year, we will also have Dr Bike and South Wales Police available to security mark your bicycle. We will also invite staff and students to take part in a litter pick in Bute Park on 6th March and enjoy some fresh air during your lunchtime.
Supporting our theme of sustainable food, this year we are running two sustainability skills workshops. Back by popular demand is our wasteless kitchen workshop where you can learn some tasty tricks on what to do with your leftovers! Alternatively if you’d like to learn more about growing your own, however small a space you have available, come along to our urban growing workshop.
There are lots more events to take part it – you can find them in the ‘sustainability week’ events series on the intranet.
