Five Ways to Wellbeing

14 May 2015

Scientific evidence points to five steps that you can take to help improve your mental wellbeing: the Five Ways to Wellbeing, a set of evidence-based actions/activities you can do in your everyday life, both at work and at home.

They are:

5WaysConnect

Connect – with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to help develop a support network.

5WaysBeActive

Be Active – walk, run, dance. Exercise is known to help you feel better.

5WaysTakeNotice

Take notice – look around you, how does it makes you feel? Reflecting on your experiences will help you appreciate what matters to you.

5WaysKeepLearning

Keep learning – Challenge yourself to something you will enjoy achieving, at home or at work.

5WaysGive

Give – do something for a friend or a stranger. Smile. Say “Thank you”.

Mind have some helpful ideas about what you can do to get started in each of the Five Ways, and don’t forget that there is a Five Ways to Wellbeing workshop taking place today, Thursday 14 May, where you could find out more about how to take on a more positive outlook.
