{"id":696,"date":"2019-06-02T11:10:18","date_gmt":"2019-06-02T11:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/rethinkingexistentialism\/?p=696"},"modified":"2019-06-24T14:21:05","modified_gmt":"2019-06-24T14:21:05","slug":"two-new-articles-and-a-weekend-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/rethinkingexistentialism\/two-new-articles-and-a-weekend-course\/","title":{"rendered":"Climbing trees, stereotypes, and a weekend course"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two online articles have been published in the past few months.<br><br><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/ClimbingTrees\">Climbing Trees and Raising Children with Simone de Beauvoir<\/a> is a short article at the New Statesman website that argues for an existentialist approach to parenting based on Beauvoir&#8217;s moral philosophy and analyses of childhood and motherhood.<br><br><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/RethExistAeon2\">Against Type<\/a> is a longer essay at Aeon magazine that argues for a range of contributions that a renewed attention to existentialism can make to the psychology and ethics of stereotyping and implicit bias.<br><br>Jonathan Webber will be presenting ideas from <em>Rethinking Existentialism<\/em> at <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/ExistentOUDCE\">a weekend course in January 2020\u00a0in\u00a0Oxford<\/a>.
