“Before starting my part-time MSc in 2012, I was working as a Senior Test Technician. Thanks to this degree, I have now been able to secure an RF Engineering role within the same firm, which is great!
“In my search for a postgraduate degree in microwave engineering, I noticed that there are not many UK universities that offer this programme but Cardiff University is one of the pioneering institutions to offer it. Cardiff University has a very stimulating learning atmosphere. Everyone’s really friendly and lecturers are always there to help.
“Before joining this course, I had a very basic knowledge about RF and Microwave. The saying “Known is a drop, unknown is an ocean” seems to perfectly fit my case. The course taught me more about Microwaves right from calibration through to various complex RF designs. I gained knowledge in various concepts like non-linear measurement systems, device characterisation, RF circuit design and simulation.
“The lecturers and Professors take time to prepare their lectures, keep us updated on Modules, guide us how to prepare assignments, comment on our presentations, help us to improve our styles and guide us for future prospects. Instead of constant lectures, the course is broken up into lectures and lab sessions which are a great practical learning opportunity. The knowledge I gained through this course is helping me to perform my day to day duties at work.
“Cardiff University’s Library is also a reservoir of knowledge. It supplies books, journals, magazines and e-material on every subject, making it easier for students to readily obtain the information they require.
“I would recommend this course for any one interested in RF/microwave engineering and research. It is an honour to learn from such a great blend of brilliant minds and I can happily end this note by saying that I am in the right place with right people.”
