This year, the summer school will run from Monday 10<sup>th<\/sup> August to Friday 28<sup>th<\/sup> August 2020.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We are excited to announce that the summer school will take place <strong>online<\/strong> via the learning experience platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/aula.education\/\">Aula<\/a>. Aula brings students, staff, and educators together in a digital environment that encourages interaction and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>As in previous years, the summer school will give year 12 students a taste of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University through talks, activities and Q&amp;As with staff and students and will cover topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Astronomy and Cosmology<\/li>\n<li>Medical Physics<\/li>\n<li>Physics Careers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will be a maximum of 6 hours work each week which will be a mixture of individual tasks to be completed at students\u2019 own pace and collaborative tasks with other attendees. Zoom webinars will be recorded and made available to attendees through Aula.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you are interested, please apply using <a href=\"https:\/\/cardiff.onlinesurveys.ac.uk\/as-summer-school-2020\">this application form<\/a> by midnight Sunday 2<sup>nd<\/sup> August.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the case of over subscription places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.<\/li>\n<li>Attendees to the summer school will require access to the internet. The Aula platform is available both in browser and as an app, but the user experience may be optimal on a laptop or desktop computer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The above application form is for the AS Level Summer School which is for students in Year 12. This is distinct to our <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/cardiff.onlinesurveys.ac.uk\/offer-holder-summer-school-2020-2\">offer holder summer school<\/a><em> which is for those who hold an offer to study at the university in Sept 2020.
