More than big \u2014 it includes everything that exists! Help your students understand the magnitude of the cosmos by using your class time to explore some of the objects in the vast Universe beyond our Solar System.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Working with partners in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inspiringscience.eu\/event\/ise-observing-challenge\">Inspiring Science Education<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lcogt.net\/\">LCOGT<\/a> we have set up a great opportunity for European schools involving a ready-to-use learning scenario, a simple tool, and a way for your class to celebrate their exploration of the Universe. With the click of a button, classes can make observations using a network of professional telescopes around the world and will receive their own unique poster displaying their image.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image pull-right\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2016\/05\/telescope.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1975 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2016\/05\/telescope-e1463477886575.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">To participate in the ISE 2016 Observing Challenge all you have to do is to use the <a href=\"http:\/\/portal.opendiscoveryspace.eu\/edu-object\/astronomical-bingo-and-observing-robotic-telescopes-841734\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prepared scenario<\/a> with your class before 30 June 2016. The scenario involves using \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/lcogt.net\/education\/messierbingo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Messier Bingo<\/a>\u201d to become familiar with astronomical objects, and then to observe one of them with the LCOGT robotic telescopes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Teachers who successfully complete the scenario with their class (using the demonstrator with more than 10 students) and submit their participation will receive a poster of their observation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Find out how to take part <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inspiringscience.eu\/event\/ise-observing-challenge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.\u00a0On Wednesday May 25th, as part of the new ISE Webinar Series, Cardiff University&#8217;s own Dr\u00a0Chris North will take you through the steps necessary to use the resources that make up the Observing challenge.
