The prize is a choice from five sets of school lab equipment, all of which works with Logger Pro software that participating schools have free access to. Simply complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/e-mature.ea.gr\/\">e-Maturity Questionnaire<\/a> and email\u00a0us a completed <a href=\"http:\/\/astrog80.astro.cf.ac.uk\/ISE\/ISE_ActionPlan_UK.docx\">Action Plan<\/a>\u00a0before 28th February. See our <a title=\"Inspiring Science Education UK Prize Draw\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/inspiring-science-education\/prize-draw\/\">Prize Draw page<\/a> for more information, or <a href=\"mailto:ise@astro.cf.ac.uk\">contact us<\/a> for guidance with the Action Plan.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/inspiringscience.eu\/competition\">ISE International Year of Light Competition<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/inspiringscience.eu\/competition\"><\/p>\n<figure class=\"Image pull-right\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1472 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2015\/01\/lights.png\" alt=\"lights\" width=\"175\" height=\"139\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>This year is the International Year of Light, and to mark that Inspiring Science Education is\u00a0project\u00a0is holding a competition: &#8220;Learning with Light&#8221;. To enter,\u00a0you\u00a0need to\u00a0use one of the ISE tools from the repository in your classroom, and complete\u00a0a worksheet about your\u00a0lesson or experiment before 31st March 2015. See the <a href=\"http:\/\/inspiringscience.eu\/competition\">&#8220;Learning with Light&#8221; Competition page<\/a> for more information<\/p>\n<h2><a title=\"Hands-on Astronomy: Teacher Conferences\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/inspiring-science-education\/hands-on-astronomy-teacher-conference\/\">Hands-on Astronomy Conferences<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Cardiff University\u00a0are hosting two free teacher training conferences to\u00a0provide teachers with access to innovative, interactive resources for using astronomy in the classroom. Each conference will be held for 2 days in April, and a follow-up\u00a0day in\u00a0July. The dates are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Solar System and Space Missions<\/strong>: Mon 13th &amp; Tue 14th April and Wed 1st July<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stars, Galaxies and Cosmology<\/strong>: Wed 15th &amp; Thu 16th April and Thu 2nd July<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funding for state schools, academies and colleges is available through the National Science Learning Centre&#8217;s ENTHUSE Awards, which will provided contributions to teacher cover as well as travel and accommodation expenses.<\/p>\n<p>See the <a title=\"Hands-on Astronomy: Teacher Conferences\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/inspiring-science-education\/hands-on-astronomy-teacher-conference\/\">Hands-on Astronomy Conferences page<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;Cosmos to Quantum&#8221; at the National Space Centre<\/h2>\n<p>The National Space Centre will be hosting a teacher CPD day about including the latest research in the classroom, from the Large Hadron Collider to the latest space observatory.
