We have a large\u00a0<a style=\"color: #045bc6\" title=\"Public Engagement Activities\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/engagement\/history\/\">outreach programme<\/a>\u00a0made possible by members of the School volunteering their own time. As part of this programme, we offer a range of talks on cutting edge scientific research from academics in the School and have provided support for a number of\u00a0<a style=\"color: #045bc6\" title=\"Educational Resources\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/resources\/\">innovative resources<\/a>\u00a0for education and outreach purposes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #383735\">We also host specific\u00a0<a style=\"color: #045bc6\" title=\"For Teachers and Schools\" href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/schools\/\">events<\/a>\u00a0for students aged 4-18 and help run teacher training activities.<\/p>\n<p>We have\u00a0 an active outreach group.\u00a0 Formally, these include Head of Public Engagement and Outreach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astro.cf.ac.uk\/contactsandpeople\/?page=full&amp;id=151\">Professor Haley Gomez<\/a>, Ogden Science Lecturer and STFC Public Engagement Fellow\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.astro.cf.ac.uk\/contactsandpeople\/?page=full&amp;id=493\">Dr Chris North<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/universe-in-the-classroom\/\">Universe in a Classroom<\/a> manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astro.cf.ac.uk\/contactsandpeople\/?page=full&amp;id=682\">Sarah Roberts,<\/a>\u00a0Schools Liaison Officer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astro.cf.ac.uk\/contactsandpeople\/?page=full&amp;id=343\">Wendy Sadler<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astro.cf.ac.uk\/contactsandpeople\/?page=full&amp;id=150\">Dr Edward Gomez<\/a> (Director of Education at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lco.global\">Las Cumbres Observatory<\/a>).\u00a0 Combined with our excellent administrative and technical staff, we run the everyday projects.\u00a0 We also have an Outreach Committee which oversees public engagement strategy in the School, and many members of academic staff and students who also run and engage with outreach projects on a national level.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_441\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" ><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2014\/02\/308.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-441 \" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2014\/02\/308-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"From left to right: Dr Chris North, Dr Haley Gomez, Sarah Roberts and Dr Edward Gomez, part of the public engagement team at the School of Physics and Astronomy\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2014\/02\/308-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2014\/02\/308-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/physicsoutreach\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/236\/2014\/02\/308-624x415.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">From left to right: Dr Chris North, Prof Haley Gomez, Sarah Roberts and Dr Edward Gomez, part of the public engagement team at the School of Physics and Astronomy.
