Bees Open Day

20 July 2016

15 July 2016, 11:00 – 16:00

Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy opened

P1010710

its doors to students, parents, and the wider public to highlight the School’s innovative work on bees and pollinators. The School’s researchers are working with bee keepers from across Wales to isolate novel antibacterial compounds capable of treating antibiotic-resistant hospital ‘super bugs’. The School has installed three hives on the roof of its own Redwood building in Cathays Park, and has surrounded the building with antibacterial plants, in the hope of developing Cardiff’s own ‘super honey’.
