International Open Access Week provides an opportunity for the wider community to promote and discuss progression towards making openness the default for research, and to ensure that equity, diversity and inclusion are prioritised. This year\u2019s theme intentionally aligns with the recently released\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.unesco.org\/science-sustainable-future\/open-science\/recommendation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science<\/a>, of which Open Access is a crucial component.
