One such tenant, ImmunoServ, has been making headlines for their cutting-edge work in immune testing.

This year, ImmunoServ received one of Wales’ highest honours – the St David Award for Innovation, Science and Technology, recognising their significant contribution to improving our understanding of immune responses to infection and vaccination. The award celebrates the company’s rapid development of T cell testing services during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as their continued innovation in tackling global health challenges – from seasonal and avian flu to multiple sclerosis and cancer.

Building on this success, ImmunoServ has now launched the Immuno-T™ Laboratory Test Kit – a product that allows laboratories worldwide to measure T cell responses in a simple, standardised way. By offering insight into long-term immunity, the kit provides vital data for public health efforts and vaccine evaluation. It has already seen international uptake, including in The Gambia, and is helping to broaden access to advanced immunological testing.

This breakthrough has been supported by the Cardiff Capital Region’s Academic–Industry Partnership, which helps bring together the expertise, funding, and infrastructure needed to move technology from research to real-world use. The kit includes all the components needed for laboratory-based T cell testing – including ready-to-use reagents, validated protocols, and clear to interpret guidelines.

Founded by Cardiff University researchers Dr Martin Scurr and Professor Andrew Godkin, ImmunoServ are a Cardiff Medicentre tenant on a mission to bring advanced immunology into everyday clinical and research settings.

As James Hindley, CEO of Cardiff Medicentre, explains:
“Through our time at Cardiff Medicentre so far, we have built incredible links to researchers and clinicians within the Heath Hospital and Cardiff University, which has improved both the quality and speed of our R&D. We are excited about continuing to build upon the local collaborative network to grow our global impact.”

We are proud to support their journey and to see their success translating into meaningful improvements in global health.

For more information about ImmunoServ and their work, visit https://immunoserv.com/

At Cardiff Medicentre, we’re proud to support pioneering life science companies making a real-world impact.
