Symposium on Register in SFL

9 December 2015

UPDATED PROGRAMME – SFL symposium on register (PDF)

As part of the Advanced Research Residency (ARR) in Systemic Functional Linguistics,  we have organised a symposium on register on March 14 2016. (click here for the registration form)

This is a free event but places are limited so we are asking everyone to complete the registration form (see link below) to indicate their interest in attending. We will then confirm a place (or not). Priority will be given to visiting scholars who have come to Cardiff to take part in the ARR in SFL.

Geoff Thompson was originally invited to take part in the symposium and we cannot run the symposium without honouring him and his work so we have added a special session to the end of the programme, which will be open to all.

Following the symposium, on March 15th, we have a special lecture dedicated to Ruqaiya Hasan, which will be given by Rebekah Wegener (RWTH Aachen University).  It seems unbelievable that we have lost two great scholars and colleagues so tragically and suddenly in such a short time.

On the 16th of March as part of our regular CLCR research seminar series, we also have an SFL related topic by Arianna Maiorani (Loughborough University).

So please consider joining us for three days of SFL fun!
