{"id":35,"date":"2010-03-18T15:18:43","date_gmt":"2010-03-18T15:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cf.ac.uk\/library\/westlaw-uk-recent-enhancements\/"},"modified":"2022-04-13T09:31:50","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T08:31:50","slug":"westlaw-uk-recent-enhancements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/library\/westlaw-uk-recent-enhancements\/","title":{"rendered":"Westlaw UK &#8211; recent enhancements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Case Analysis documents on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/insrv\/eresources\/databases\/westlaw.html\">Westlaw UK<\/a> have been enhanced by the following additions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\">Summary \u2013 a concise summary of the facts of the case.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Related Cases &#8211; a list of other cases heard between the same parties, but on different points of law or before supra-national courts.<\/li>\n<li>All Cases Cited and Key Cases Citing \u2013 a list of all the cases that have been cited by the case you are viewing and a list of all the key cases which cite your case and are considered to be significant.<\/li>\n<li>Commentary &#8211; links to specific sections of books on Westlaw UK to which Cardiff University subscribes (such as Archbold and the The White Book ), which cite the case.<\/li>\n<li>Tabular View \u2013 information displayed in tables some of which can be sorted to suit your requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Graphical History &#8211; for cases with a complex history, this display enables users to view the litigation histories as flow charts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For an example of a Case Analysis document which has these enhancements, see: Crehan v Inntrepreneur Pub Co (CPC) [2006] UKHL 38<\/p>\n<p>Westlaw UK have also introduced new icons so that you can see the status of a case. These will appear next to the search results, within a law report&#8217;s table of contents and at the top of the case document.
