Where did you grow up?
\n<\/strong>Portugal<\/p>\n

Before I worked in the library I\u2026<\/strong>
\nWas a conservator (not in a political way!).\u00a0 I worked in Portugal, Brazil and the UK. In the UK I worked in conservation of stone monuments in different historic buildings around the country and my first project was in St Laurence\u2019s Church<\/a>, Ludlow.\u00a0 I worked in the beautiful chancel reredos, made of gilded limestone, and the mosaics.<\/p>\n

I am currently reading\u2026<\/strong>
\nSeveral books\u2026 ‘The Plague’ by Albert Camus, ‘On Painting’ by Leon Battista Alberti and ‘Museums in the New Mediascape’ by Jenny Kidd.\u00a0 In Bute Library I always come across amazing books I want to read and I feel life is too short to read them all!<\/p>\n

What are your favourite things about Cardiff? Any hidden gems?<\/strong>
\nI love being able to cycle everywhere, Chapter<\/a> and lying in Bute Park in a warm and sunny day. AND welsh cakes!\u00a0 The National Museum<\/a> has the best ones!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favourite place in the world (besides Cardiff!)?<\/strong>
\nI think it\u2019s home, in Portugal.\u00a0 A small village in the mountains in Algarve.\u00a0 I love the smell of certain plants when the air is warm.\u00a0 And the sun!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best thing about working here in the library?<\/strong>
\nI love the academic environment.\u00a0 I enjoy the organization and talking with students.\u00a0 Some tell us what they are working on and it\u2019s always interesting and inspiring.<\/p>\n

If you didn\u2019t work in a library, what would be your dream job?<\/strong>
\nI have a few dream jobs!… But now I would like to be a baker<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your most unusual or surprising library query?<\/strong>
\nI always find it funny when people come to the desk and say \u201cHi, I\u2019m looking for a book\u201d.\u00a0 It makes me laugh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Name & job title Morena, library assistant.
