{"id":1373,"date":"2015-05-26T10:55:21","date_gmt":"2015-05-26T09:55:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/library\/?p=1373"},"modified":"2022-04-13T09:31:30","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T08:31:30","slug":"cardiff-universitys-open-access-publications-policy-is-now-available-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/library\/cardiff-universitys-open-access-publications-policy-is-now-available-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Cardiff University&#8217;s Open Access Publications Policy is now available online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University&#8217;s Open Access Publications Policy is now available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/insrv\/forresearchers\/openaccess\/policy\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a> in English and Welsh.<\/p>\n<p>The policy applies to all research-active staff and research students of the University.<\/p>\n<p>To summarise the policy, the main requirement is that all Cardiff authors store the details of their research publications on <a href=\"http:\/\/orca.cf.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ORCA<\/a>, the institutional repository. The most important point is that all authors must use ORCA to store the full text of all peer-reviewed research articles that may be submitted to the next REF, within 3 months of the acceptance date. (This is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hefce.ac.uk\/rsrch\/oa\/Policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HEFCE policy<\/a> for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission).<\/p>\n<p>The policy also recommends that all researchers register for an ORCID identifier, as a unique ID that can follow you through your academic career.
