{"id":1245,"date":"2014-11-21T10:16:30","date_gmt":"2014-11-21T10:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/library\/?p=1245"},"modified":"2022-04-13T09:31:30","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T08:31:30","slug":"shakespeare-450-cardiff-university-libraries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.cardiff.ac.uk\/library\/shakespeare-450-cardiff-university-libraries\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate Shakespeare @ 450 with Cardiff University Libraries!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Cardiff University Libraries mark 450 years since Shakespeare\u2019s birth<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"floatRight alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/insrv\/images\/news\/image-202140-web.jpg\" alt=\"Shakespeare 450\" width=\"179\" height=\"212\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare&#8217;s birth, our libraries are holding a week long Shakespeare 450 celebration from 1<sup>st<\/sup> \u2013 5<sup>th<\/sup> December.<\/p>\n<p>We will be hosting Shakespeare-themed displays, as well as competitions throughout the week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a title=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/insrv\/libraries\/assl\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/insrv\/libraries\/assl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arts and Social Studies Library<\/a> will be promoting Shakespeare-related materials in the SCOLAR special collections.<\/li>\n<li>Take part in a &#8216;Shakespeare in Wales&#8217; seminar in the Arts and Social Studies Library.<\/li>\n<li>Vote for your favourite Shakespeare play when you visit a library that week, and be entered into a prize draw to win theatre gift vouchers.<\/li>\n<li>Exercise your grey cells by encapsulating the plot of your favourite Shakespeare play in the space of a tweet! Just #CUShakespeare450 to be in with the chance of winning a prize!<\/li>\n<li>Join the <a title=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/music\/index.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cardiff.ac.uk\/music\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Music<\/a> and the Music Library for &#8216;The Influence of Shakespeare&#8217; on Thursday 4th December, 12.30 \u2013 1.30pm in the School of Music.
