LibrarySearch Launches!

3 August 2012

On Monday 6 August LibrarySearch will be launched (, the new interface to the Voyager Library Catalogue.

LibrarySearch provides a single starting point for searching and accessing the University’s range of information resources; these include the existing Voyager Library catalogue, the institutional repository ORCA and journal articles.

This new search interface is easy to use and offers a wide selection of limits to refine your search results.  It searches the tables of contents within books; for some subjects this has more than doubled the number of items found compared to a search in Voyager.

LibrarySearch also includes ArticleSearch, a Google Scholar type search function.  The default QuickSearch enables you to quickly find those journal articles on your subject which are immediately available online via the library.  You can also select a subject from the drop down menu next to the search box to search for journal articles and other publications using the major databases for your subject.

From Monday 13 August, all library catalogue terminals in our libraries will display LibrarySearch instead of Voyager. Please ask your library staff for assistance, or access the FAQs and help pages.
