FOLLOW-ME Printing and Copying – Intro

26 September 2012

You may have noticed that there is a new printing system in your libraries. Our printers and copiers are now combined, so you use the same machine for printing and copying. To print, send your print jobs from your computer to the FOLLOW-ME print queue. You then log in to any printer/copier across the university, and release your printing.

The advantages of the new system include:

  • Print A4 and A3, grayscale and colour, from any computer. To help save the planet and save you money, the default is A4, grayscale, and double-sided: but you can change this if you need to.
  • You can also print from a non-university computer, such as a laptop or your home computer. Go to your print account at https://myprint.cf.ac.uk:9192/user , and use ‘webPrint’.
  • You’re not charged until you release your print job from a printer/copier. You can spot any mistakes before you’re charged.
  • Your print jobs won’t print until you’re logged in to the printer/copier: so no-one can walk off with your important documents!
  • If you don’t collect your printing by logging in to a printer/copier and releasing your jobs, they will be deleted after four hours, and you won’t be charged.
