Sometimes, when uni work stress gets too much, we all want a place where we can escape the madness and impending deadlines, and just take a breather. Cardiff has a number of spots where you can do this, and I am here to tell you about the very best ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bute Park<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known as the largest park in Cardiff, Bute is not short of space to hide away from people. A bigger bonus is the fact that it is located right next to the Talybont halls of residences where many people stay in their first year. Grab a book or some headphones, and take a wander alongside the river. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come summer, the park will be bustling with BBQ\u2019s, cider and\nfootballs. However, come winter, the park makes for the ultimate snowball fight\narena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roath Park<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roath is the place to be if you want both peace and quiet,\nand to be surrounded by a stunning landscape. As a renowned Victorian park, people\nare drawn to the area as it is full of both historic and horticultural interest.\nThe lake also makes for that perfect Instagram shot and is so peaceful you won\u2019t\neven remember you are in a city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Museum Cardiff<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slap bang in the middle of the university buildings, the\nNational Museum Cardiff is one of the best places to immerse yourself into an\nentirely different time and space. Even better, it is completely free! With\neverything from art collections to dinosaur remains, you will be marvelling for\nhours at its expansive array of artefacts. The museum also puts on a number of\nspecial exhibitions throughout the year which aren\u2019t to be missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff Bay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only is it by the sea, but the place is bustling with restaurants and cafes to suit every taste. Taking a stroll alongside the breezy bay will see your stresses seep away in no time. This can then be wrapped up with a nice coffee, allowing you to people-watch to your heart\u2019s content. The famous Millennium Centre is also located right nearby so it is well worth trying to catch a show if you can!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff Castle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iconic and beautiful, going to the castle is a must when you are living in Cardiff. With a huge green space, it is the perfect place to chill out with friends. By paying just \u00a36.50, you are given unlimited access to the castle for three years thanks to the Cardiff Key. These are only issued to those living and working in Cardiff which includes students studying at the university.
