Do you know what’s even cooler? This year we are celebrating the 60th anniversary of “Doctor Who”! Can you believe it? This show has brought us time-traveling and alien-battling adventures for six decades and many of them took place right here in Cardiff. How awesome is that? It’s a privilege to be part of a city that has such a rich history in TV.

Doctor Who: Cardiff’s Timeless Buddy

So, let’s dive into the “Doctor Who” and Cardiff saga. They’re like the best of friends. When the show rebooted back in 2005, Cardiff became its home base for all those space-time shenanigans. The 60th-anniversary celebration at Cardiff Bay? Absolutely out of this world—think lights, cameras, and a whole lot of action. That’s right, “Sherlock” was actually filmed in some of the lecture halls here! Just imagine that you could be sitting in the same spot where some of the most mind-bending scenes were shot. It’s almost like being part of the show (minus the crime-solving bit, of course). And let’s be real, finals week can sometimes feel like a mystery in itself, right?

Photo by Chamindu Perera on Unsplash

Cardiff’s Film Scene—We’re in the Mix

Cardiff’s got a role in pretty much every genre you can think of.
