Last week I packed up my suitcase and rolled (or should I say dragged) my suitcase through Cathays to the Cardiff University National Express stop. Here I took a coach to London, where I managed to secure a \u00a339 Eurostar journey to Paris (unfortunately no longer available but check the website for cheap deals). We had a weekend of cheeseboards, wine tastings and club entry lines. As the coldest time of year drags on, a great solution to your winter blues could be a winter escape to any of these destinations, such as mine to Paris. Please note that all approximate prices were correct at the time of writing, check websites like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kayak.co.uk\/\">Kayak <\/a>or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyscanner.net\/\">Skyscanner <\/a>to find the latest cheap deals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Dublin, Ireland for \u00a3200<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyscanner.net\/transport\/flights\/cwl\/dubl\/230225\/230227\/?adultsv2=1&amp;cabinclass=economy&amp;childrenv2=&amp;inboundaltsenabled=false&amp;outboundaltsenabled=false&amp;preferdirects=false&amp;priceSourceId=&amp;priceTrace=202302051555*D*CWL*DUB*20230225*ctuk*FR%7C202302051555*D*DUB*CWL*20230227*ctuk*FR&amp;qp_prevCurrency=GBP&amp;qp_prevPrice=55&amp;qp_prevProvider=ins_month&amp;rtn=1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">flights<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to Dublin being less than an hour long, why not discover Ireland\u2019s history in its capital? A visit from 25th February until 27th February could only set you back by less than \u00a3200. With flights being around \u00a355 for a return from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/9NDTQ5KycE3nrASf9\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cardiff airport<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and \u00a352 a night for a bed in a dorm at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ZdAUJ5ngUpSTcdNH6\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Generator Dublin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Dublin is an easy option for a few days&#8217; break from Cardiff while collecting another passport stamp.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Edinburgh, Scotland for \u00a3180<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You might want to do some stretches before this one. With a dorm bed at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.st-christophers.co.uk\/edinburgh\/original-hostel\/availability?cid=Xs9UbAhLRB3~.BK-tcccNPLrw3tYal&amp;checkIn=2023-02-17&amp;checkOut=2023-02-20\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">St Christopher\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> being \u00a320, a trip from 17th to 20th February could only cost you \u00a3180 (don\u2019t forget to book direct for a free breakfast!).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Riga, Latvia for \u00a3140<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With flights from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/R9vi2DScVdbx3DbK7\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bristol airport<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> costing as little as \u00a357 and only taking 3 hours, Riga is the ultimate travel destination for university students. A trip from 24th February until 27th February could cost as little as \u00a3140, including staying at one of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostelworld.com\/pwa\/hosteldetails.php\/The-Naughty-Squirrel-Backpackers-Hostel\/Riga\/5932?from=2023-02-24&amp;to=2023-02-27&amp;guests=1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">best hostels in Europe<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. When asking a friend who studies in Riga for student-friendly recommendations in the city, she gave me a goldmine of insight. She recommends the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u20ac2 one-way train from R<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">iga to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/uupwWtN1FqvHyFWQA\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">J\u016brmala<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, or a 40-minute train to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/9ZJGBCmYcCG7weSe8\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ogre<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
