<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nThe work counts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As mentioned, this is the year when your essay and exam\nresults really will count – but don\u2019t let this worry you. By now you will have\na whole year of practice up your sleeve in which you have mastered the art of\nthe academic essay, and got your revision ritual down to a tee. Although it\ncounts, you will be supported by your lecturers more than ever before so really\nmake the most of organising 1-1 sessions with them to confirm that you are on\nthe right track with your work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Modules may go\ninto greater depth <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The complexity of the topics you are studying don\u2019t\nparticularly skyrocket in level, but you may find yourself delving deeper into\nvarious areas of your course to give you even greater understanding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You can choose\nyour modules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Having the flexibility to choose the topics that interest\nyou most is one of the best parts about second and third year. During the\nsummer before you will be emailed a module handbook with a breakdown of all the\noptions you can choose from. Have a proper read through and take note of the\nway they are assessed and what each lecture will cover. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Semester abroad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you opt to undertake a semester overseas then second year\nwill be the time when you embark on this epic adventure. This is a fantastic\nopportunity to experience university life at a different institution, whether\nthat be in Europe, America, Australia, and many more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Moving into\nprivate rental houses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Second year means you will now be calling Cathays home. Life\nin halls is history, and you now have an entire place to call your own. You can\ncontrol your heating, have your own communal TV, and most importantly, not have\nto worry about being fined by the cleaning lady every week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You will have\nlikely established a solid group of friends<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite the increased work load, it is important not to look\nat second year as if it is all doom and gloom. There are many benefits to being\none year older in the university realm and having a nice group of friends is\njust one of them. Gone are the days of feeling alone in a big new city, you now\nhave a circle of pals who you can depend on for a good night out, and a cosy\nnight in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n You know the ropes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Last but not least, it is safe to say that by now you know\nwhere everything is. You know your favourite library, your favourite caf\u00e9, and\nyour favourite study time.
