Unique Things to Do in Cardiff

31 Mawrth 2017

To the people who say there’s nothing to do in Cardiff, there is actually a lot on! Whether you’re visiting Cardiff on an open day or a current student wanting to get to know the city better, here are a few things that you can do which you may not have thought of 🙂

1. Escape Room

Escape rooms have been quite a new fun thing to do with friends, so basically you and your friends will be locked in a room and as the title states you have to escape in a certain amount of time. There is usually more than 1 room to escape and they all have a certain theme e.g. spies, jungle, prison. I recommend it to people who want to do some fun detective work or just want to do something out of the ordinary with their friends. There are many places to do this in Cardiff:

Break Out: Themes- Spies, Haunted Carnival, Horror Warehouse, Cost- Around £18/person

Escape Rooms Cardiff: Themes- Egyptian Tomb, Sherlock, Heist, Cost- £16-25/person

Escape Reality: Cost- £16-20/person

Adventure Rooms Cardiff: Themes-Mad Scientist, Black Queen, Cost- £15-25/person

City Mazes: Themes- Jungle, Titanic, Aliens, Pirates, Cost- £11-25/person (If you check their Facebook, they usually post discount codes)

2. Mini Golf

In the St. Davids/Dewi Sant Shopping Centre there is a large mini golf course called Tree Top Adventure Golf which is fun for all ages. As students we get a discount as well so we only need to pay £5.50 for an 18-hole game 🙂

3. Lush Spa

A brand new bigger better Lush has opened literally today in Cardiff city centre and there is now finally a Lush Spa :O I honestly think this would be the best thing after a long day of revision or after I finish all my exams! Prices at the spa start at £50 for a deep tissue massage and range from £85 for a 60 minute facial to £285 for a three hour treatment called The Planets.

4. Doctor Who

For all you Whovians out there, this is a special place for you 😉 It is an interactive, multi-sensory space full of exhibits on Doctor Who  show icons, props and costumes, plus film clips! However sadly this place is closing down in early summer so go while you can 🙂

5. Cardiff Castle

If you come to Cardiff, visiting the castle is a must! The Castle consists of a medieval castle and a Victorian Gothic revival mansion located in the city centre of Cardiff, Wales. The original motte and bailey castle was built in the late 11th century by Norman invaders on top of a 3rd-century Roman fort. The castle was commissioned either by William the Conqueror or by Robert Fitzhamon, and formed the heart of the medieval town of Cardiff and the Marcher Lord territory of Glamorgan. You can go on a tour around the site or just walk around admiring the view 🙂

Although the last suggestion may be a bit obvious for most, I hope the others at least have shown you that there is a lot on in Cardiff and you should definitely give the city a visit!

Till the next post,
