Update: Opportunities for Welsh Anaesthetists and Intensivists

13 November 2014

Great news!  The Phoenix Project has been successful obtaining a THET grant to support travel for Anaesthetists/Intensivists travelling to teach in  Namibia on the 3 intensive courses in Anaesthesia in Namibia in 2015.  The courses will be delivered in February, July and September for 10 days.   If interested, contact Jen Lloyd in the first place, administrator for Phoenix:Lloydj30@cf.ac.uk she can arrange a discussion with me.

The March 2015 Mothers of Africa trip to Zambia is now full, if however you are interested in travelling in June 2015, please let me know via my PA Maria: Gundyma@cf.ac.uk

Are you interested in teaching applied anatomy to medical students?  The academic department’s module is now going out to the whole of Year 5 in Spring 2015 and we would benefit from more tutors (don’t worry there are anatomists on hand for when the specimens come out).  We cover the peripheral and central vasculature, the chest and chest wall, the airway, abdomen and the heart and we get out ultrasound and use lots of good clinical examples.  All tutors have enjoyed delivering it: practical anatomy is something Anaesthetists/Intensivists are good at.  Contact streetpa@cf.ac.uk if you are interested.
