Society of Anaesthetists of Wales Spring Meeting 2015

Recently, our President Dr Hywel Jones presided over the Society of Anaesthetists of Wales’ very successful Spring Meeting.  It was a festival of Welsh Trainee achievement with excellent presentations in all categories Research, Case Reports and Audit.  Photos of participants and prizewinners are below.

Dr Steve Yentis gave an excellent Mushin Medal Lecture on the theme of research fraud and publication.  To be honest though my favourite session was the very last of the day: three invited presentations by Welsh Trainees.  Drs Mohammed, Francis and Fox presented Burn-out in Doctors, Electro-anaesthesia and Mothers of Africa respectively.  A superb session.

Dr Jones was supported by Past Presidents Sue Catling and Brian Jenkins with posters being judged by Chris’ Cubed (Terblanche, Littler and Callander).  The efforts of our Treasurer Dr Simon Logan ​ and most especially our Secretary Dr Omar Pemberton and most be noted. Both worked tirelessly to make the meeting a success.  A very big thank you to Omar’s assistant Lauren.

I am very much looking forward to the Autumn Meeting focussing on airway and education.  Once again there will be a trainee competition and presentations.
