International Women’s Day at India Centre Cardiff

13 March 2014

On the evening of 8th March 2014, the Hindu Cultural Association in Cardiff remembered International Women’s Day in style.  I was lucky enough to be there to talk about my work with the charity Mothers of Africa.

In a festival of dance, song, interpretation and words the successes of women were truely celebrated.  These successes were often achieved against great odds.  The India Centre was full for the occasion and the audience saw spectacular dance, heard beautiful song and listened to inspirational presentations, from successful, powerful yet sensitive women.  The theme of International Women’s Day this year is Inspiring Change and these are women to inspire us.

Of the evening’s entertainment, my own personal favourite was the Gujarati dancing.  I thoroughly enjoyed the occasion, and I thought you might enjoy the photo-shoot of the evening taken by Chandrahas Roy.
