The human heart is a symbol of love, kindness and courage but how does it actually work and what happens when it goes wrong?

Get a fresh perspective on the anatomy of the heart by experiencing a simulated demonstration of a medical emergency, and exploring a dancer’s perspective on the most celebrated part of the human body. This insightful event will be illustrated by students from Cardiff School of Art and Design.

This event is part of the latest Performing Medicine season of demonstrations, talks and workshops, in which leading artists and clinicians invite us to reconsider the ways in which we think about our bodies; our expectations of the healthcare; and the relationship between medicine and the arts.

The season is brought to you by Clod Ensemble in association with Cardiff University School of Medicine and Wales Millennium Centre and is supported by The Wellcome Trust.

Mae’r galon yn symbol o gariad, dewrder a charedigrwydd, ond sut mae’r peth yn gweithio, a beth sy’n digwydd pan nad yw’n gweithio? Mae’r sesiwn yma’n gyfle i chi ddod i adnabod anatomeg y galon, gweld efelychiad o argyfwng meddygol a phrofi dehongliad dawnsiwr ar y darn hynod yma o’r corff dynol. Bydd darluniau gan fyfyrwyr o Ysgol Celf a Dylunio Caerdydd yn rhan o’r digwyddiad yma.

Mae Clod Ensemble yn dychwelyd i Gaerdydd gyda’u prosiect Performing Medicine, ynghyd â thymor newydd o sgyrsiau diddorol, arddangosfeydd a gweithdai. Mae artistiaid a clinigwyr blaengar yn eich gwahodd i ailystyried y ffyrdd rydyn ni’n meddwl am ein cyrff, ein disgwyliadau o’r proffesiwn gofal iechyd a’r perthynas rhwng meddygaeth, gofal iechyd a’r celfyddydau. Mae pob digwyddiad ar agor i’r cyhoedd – does dim angen profiad o unrhyw fath!

Mae’r tymor Performing Medicine yma wedi’i gyflwyno gan y Clod Ensemble mewn cysylltiad ag Prifysgol Caerdydd Ysgol Meddygaeth a Chanolfan Mileniwm Cymru.
